Sample 7 Night Pack Trip Expedition Package Itinerary

Day 1:

  • Arrive Cedar Ridge Lodge after 2:00pm
  • Settle in and have supper in the main dining hall. (if arrival is before 6:30 pm)
  • Complete registration process and sign liability waivers.
  • Receive briefing on your trip, review safety procedures, and assess riding abilities for all riders.
  • Become acquainted with horses, grooming, leading. Tack up and go for a short ride in the corral or local trail approx time 1 hour. (time permitting)
  • Spend the night in our main lodge.

    Day 2:

  • Have lumberjack breakfast main dinning hall 8:00am Complete rider assessment if not completed the day before.
  • Prepare for pack trip expedition; pack duffels, load panniers for pack- horses, tack- up.
  • Return to lodge for a hearty lunch in our main dining hall at noon.
  • Depart Cedar Ridge Lodge 2:00pm for Saddle River spike camp, approximate time 3.5 hours.
  • Arrive Saddle River spike camp 5:30pm. Settle into camp, water & feed horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Relax around the bon-fire under the north's blanket of stars and (hopefully) listen to the wolves howl.
  • Retire for a full nights rest in our comfy dome tents in preparation for the journey the next day.

    Day 3:

  • Water horses.
  • Have breakfast cowboy style 8:00am.
  • Prepare for pack-trip; pack duffels, load panniers, tack- up.
  • Depart 10:00am for the Pack-in Camp approx. time 4-5 hours.
  • Stop for bag lunch along the way at noon.
  • Arrive at Pack-in Camp at 3:00 pm.
  • Settle into camp, water horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Evening options include: fishing, just sitting back relaxing and taking it all in and of course our evening bon-fire.

    Day 4:

  • Water horses.
  • Have breakfast camp style 8:00am.
  • Tack up and explore area trails. Scout for moose sheds & wildlife bones.
  • Opportunities available for bath backcountry style.
  • Stop for bag lunch along the way at noon.
  • Arrive back at Pack-in Camp at 4:00pm.
  • Settle into camp, water horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Evening options include: fishing, evening sunset ride, read a book and of course our evening bon-fire.

    Day 5:

  • Water horses.
  • Have breakfast camp style 8:00am.
  • Depart Pack-in Camp 10:00am for Copper Creek Pack-in camp approximate time 4 hours.
  • Stop for bag lunch along the way at noon.
  • Arrive Copper Creek Pack-in camp 3:00pm. Settle into camp, water horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Evening options include: fishing, stargazing, campfire games and ghost stories around the bon-fire.

    Day 6:

  • Water horses.
  • Have breakfast camp style 8:00am.
  • Explore area trails. Opportunities available for bath backcountry style.
  • Stop for bag lunch along the way at noon.
  • Arrive back at Copper Creek Pack-in camp 3:00pm. Settle into camp, water horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Evening options include: fishing, evening sunset ride, campfire games around the bon-fire.

    Day 7:

  • Water horses.
  • Have breakfast camp style 8:00am.
  • Depart Copper Creek Pack-in Camp 10:00am for Saddle River Spike Camp approximate time 5 hours.
  • Stop for bag lunch along the way at noon.
  • Arrive Saddle River Spike Camp 4:00pm. Settle into camp, water horses, prepare for evening dinner.
  • Relax around the bon-fire under the north's blanket of stars.
  • Retire for a full nights rest in our comfy dome tents in preparation for the journey the next day.

    Day 8:

  • Water horses
  • Have breakfast cowboy style 6:30am
  • Depart Saddle River 7:30am for Cedar Ridge Lodge approx time 3.5 hours.
  • Arrive Cedar Ridge Lodge 11:00 am.
  • Unpack and have lunch in main dinning hall. Showers available.
  • Depart Cedar Ride Lodge fully re-charged.

    A four-hour ride will take you to one of our remote pack in camps where you will find yourself surrounded by old growth forests, mystical streams and lakes, and gentle rolling hills. You will be transformed into another world of unspeakable beauty teaming with wildlife and birds that you may never have seen before. Our camps are comfortable remote pack-in camps reminiscent of the gold rush days that happened in the area. There are 12 gold mines in the area and trying your hand at panning for gold may prove to be worthwhile. Includes: 4 hours of riding/day, three meals/day, accommodations in prospector tents with cots, professional certified guides for the length of your stay, horses & tack. Minimum 3-night trip.
