General description : |
As a Lead Wilderness Guide you are part of the Wyndy River operations and guest services team. Main responsibilities include leading interpretive trail rides on horseback, setting up remote wilderness camps, angling guide and preparing and serving three meals per day in a remote wilderness setting. Communicating requirements/concerns to the Operations Manager and maintaining a positive team oriented work environment is also required

Specific duties : |
- Guide clients on horseback to multiple remote camps in the wilderness.
- Set up remote base camps
- Set up kitchen tents and be able to prepare three meals per day on an open fire and propane stove.
- Ensure guest safety at all times

- Must maintain a positive, team oriented working environment.
- Assist with stables operations back at the ranch when not on tour.
- Responsible for guest enthusiasm and trip satisfaction
- Promote Wyndy River Guest Expeditions & Guest Ranch.

Qualifications : |
- Positive & upbeat personality
- Previous experience in the tourism and/or equine industry an asset.
- Good communication skills (clients)
- Skilled at conflict resolution
- Professional well groomed appearance
- Organized and detailed oriented
- Previous work experience and/or have a true passion for the North and the outdoors.

- Must have drivers license
- Intermediate to advanced level trail riding
- Must be confident
- Local in-depth knowledge of wildlife and fisheries and be able to effectively communicate that to the guests.
- Must enjoy working outdoors
