Wyndy River Expeditions & Guest Ranch was formed to enter the growing outdoor adventure tourism market. The services offered include all-inclusive guest ranch stays as well as a complete angling and outfitter guide packages. Our objective is to provide a first class service and value to the outdoorsman seeking a true wilderness getaway. The ranch is located in North Eastern Ontario between the towns of Kirkland Lake and Matachewan Ontario. Approximately six hours from Toronto and eight hours from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario, Wyndy River is nestled deep in the boreal forest on the shores of Burt Lake. Wyndy River offers a dynamic work environment for the right individual looking to advance their skills in the outdoor adventure industry. Operations Manager 1 (internship)(This position open for Northern Ontario high school graduates 29 years of age or younger.

General description:

As the Operations Manager (intern) you are part of the Wyndy River management team responsible for the guest services department, operations department and the operations team. Main responsibilities include strategic planning, corporate branding & marketing as well as supervising staff communicating requirements/concerns to the President and maintain a positive team oriented work environment.

 

Specific duties:

  • Assist with developing and marketing a brand name for Wyndy River
  • Develop a marketing strategy and identify distribution channels.
  • Develop and implement systems for quality control, operations and administration functions.
  • Assist with developing annual budgets and annual forecasting models.
  • Responsible for all tasks in each department are carried out effectively

 

  • Oversee inventory procurement.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with staff to determine questions or concerns and gauge employee satisfaction
  • Must maintain a positive, team oriented working environment.
  • Responsible for employee enthusiasm and job satisfaction
  • Promote Wyndy River Guest Expeditions & Guest Ranch.

 

Qualifications:

  • Positive & upbeat personality
  • Previous experience in the tourism and/or equine industry an asset.
  • Good communication skills (clients)
  • Skilled at conflict resolution
  • Professional well groomed appearance
  • Organized and detailed oriented
  • Previous work experience and/or have a true passion for the North and the outdoors.
  • Must have drivers license
  • Intermediate to advanced level trail riding
  • Must be confident
  • Local in-depth knowledge of wildlife and fisheries and be able to effectively communicate that to the guests.
  • Must enjoy working outdoors
